The route starts with a basket boat ride in the old suburbs of Hoi An, continues through the historic centre — the 16th-century Japanese Covered Bridge and the house of a descendant of the Nguyen imperial dynasty — and ends with lanterns on the Thu Bon River and a night market on the riverfront.

• 16:45 Official's House — meeting with a descendant of the Nguyen imperial dynasty.
• 17:30 Evening riverside promenade as the city lights up.

• 19:00 Night market on the riverfront: silk, handmade leather goods and lanterns.
• 20:00 Thu Bon River: light a wish candle and release it on the water (optional, extra fee).
